Committees
Join one of our committees and contribute your skills to make an impact. From advocacy to event planning, there’s a role for everyone.
JVMS committees offer members the opportunity to engage in specific areas of interest, contributing to our initiatives, shaping society activities, and influencing the profession. Each committee is chaired by a dedicated JVMS member who ensures the group’s objectives align with our mission and member needs. Committees include:
Responsible for planning and implementing educational programs, this committee ensures that members have access to the latest knowledge and skills. It works to organize events, workshops, and seminars that meet the state’s continuing education requirements while addressing relevant veterinary topics.
The Membership Committee focuses on recruiting new members, retaining current members, and fostering a sense of community within JVMS. This committee is ideal for members who enjoy networking and want to promote the benefits of JVMS membership
The Advocacy Committee works closely with the AVMA and FVMA to advocate for policies that support veterinary medicine. Members engage in legislative research, collaborate with the FVMA, and inform JVMS members about important legislative issues. This is a great opportunity for those passionate about shaping the future of the profession.
With a focus on the well-being of veterinarians, the Wellness Committee organizes resources, workshops, and events that support the mental and physical health of our members. It’s an essential part of JVMS’s commitment to fostering a supportive community.
